Skoda could be giving its upcoming compact EV a serious performance twist, with reports suggesting a Skoda Epiq vRS is in development — set to lead a new wave of sporty electric SUVs from the brand.
Following Skoda’s recent announcement of a bold electric future, the Epiq vRS is expected to become the flagship version of the upcoming affordable compact SUV. While the standard Epiq will be front-wheel drive and focused on value and practicality, the vRS model is likely to feature more power, sharper styling, and sport-tuned handling.
Although exact specs haven’t been confirmed, the Epiq vRS could borrow tech from the wider Volkswagen Group — possibly hinting at dual-motor all-wheel drive and performance to rival the likes of the Cupra Raval or VW ID.2 GTI.
The performance Epiq would join a growing vRS electric family, with Skoda also considering sporty versions of the larger Elroq and Enyaq models. All this forms part of the brand’s strategy to electrify its performance range while keeping the vRS badge alive in the EV era.
The Epiq vRS would give fans of smaller, sportier SUVs a compelling new option — combining Skoda’s practicality with electric power and a performance edge.
What do you think — should Skoda build a hot Epiq? Would a vRS version tempt you into a compact electric SUV?
